The UAAC includes faculty and primary role advisors, as well as other professionals who impact the advising experience on a daily basis. The Council meets at least 5 times a year to discuss the systematic campus-wide application of advising policy and procedures and to inform the development of a quality proactive advising experience of undergraduate students at NC State.

Academic Advisor Professional Development Committee February 2022-Present

The Academic Advisor Professional Development Committee (AAPDC) consists of faculty advisors, primary role advisors, and advising administrators who work together to determine professional development needs.  The APDC recommends programs for all academic advisors on campus. The work this committee does is influenced by needs identified in advisor performance evaluations, advisor needs surveys, and recommendations of the Administrative Council for Academic Advising.

Undergraduate Academic Advising Assessment Committee June 2021-Present

The Undergraduate Academic Advising Assessment Committee (UAAAC) consists of primary role advisors and faculty advisor.  The purpose of this committee is to track and analyze the different types of advisors, how advising varies from one department to another, and consistencies within our advising models.  They look at access to training, structure, and equity across these positions in the hopes to make recommendations to better the advising structure at our university.

NC State University Navigate User Council October 2020-Present

The Navigate User Council, formally known as the GPS User Council, consists of faculty advisors, primary role advisors, and advising administrators and various levels within their units across our campus.  This council’s purpose is to discuss how the system is being used within these different advising approaches and administrations and how it could be used going forward.  In addition, the council will bring issues or problems that their cohorts have experienced.  The council is led by the Advising Technology team which administers the Navigate software on campus.
